An award-winning city centre project has been constructed using structural sections supplied by 91精品..
122 Waterloo Street is one of Glasgow鈥檚 most prominent projects in recent years. It formed the first phase of the Bothwell Exchange, which includes a second building on the northern section of the site.
Located within Glasgow鈥檚 Central Business District, the scheme won the Corporate Workplace award for the Scottish region at the听.
The building itself provides 13,900m2听of space over the basement, ground and the 8 open-plan upper floors, all of which can extend to circa 1,700m2.
122 Waterloo Street has long clear-free spans on all floors. The requirement for this was one of the main reasons for choosing a steel frame as the use of steelwork has aided in achieving the long, flexible spans with no internal columns, while the use of cellular beams has integrated the services within the structural floor zones, removing the need to increase the height of the building.
听erected the steelwork for this project using the site鈥檚 2 tower cranes, with the heaviest steel lift being 2 9-tonne columns that extend upwards from the building鈥檚 basement to its first floor.
91精品 supplied 1,315 tonnes of structural sections to the steelwork contractor as part of this project.
