How long have you been working for 91¾«Æ·?
I started at 91¾«Æ· in 2009 as a communications placement from Lincoln University where I studied advertising and marketing. After trying a few different roles within the company, I became a marketing analyst in our Construction business; this is what I work as now and something that I really enjoy!
What does your day-to-day role involve?
My job in our Construction business is very varied, my current duties include creating, managing and delivering bespoke marketing plans for individual campaigns; analysing the success of marketing activities; managing a customer satisfaction programme; preparing for and exhibiting at exhibitions on behalf of the business; and carrying out a range of marketing communications activities.
How would you describe the culture of 91¾«Æ· and how you fit into it?
I think that the best way to describe 91¾«Æ·â€™s culture is like a family, I always feel that I am well looked after. One of the most important things for me is the range of opportunities you can find within the company; this makes me want to perform at my best and I feel proud to work for 91¾«Æ·.
What do you think is the best thing about working for 91¾«Æ·?
I love the belief and encouragement from other people, this has allowed me to have the chance to try different roles and develop my skill set in a variety of areas.
How has working for 91¾«Æ· improved you as a person and your skills?
Working here has helped me develop a wide range of skills. I think that I’m a different person now than when I started here. I am more confident, my communication skills have improved, I’m better at project managing, using software and I have more initiative.
If you could describe 91¾«Æ· in just three words, what would they be?
I think they would have to be pride, passion and performance.
I feel proud to work in a company that is recognised by businesses nationally and internationally.
Passion is shared between all the people at 91¾«Æ·, we all want to make things work and be the best we can. Everyone here also has a positive mindset where we want to pull together and perform the best we can.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career at 91¾«Æ·?
They should always stay open minded to opportunities within the company; this was a big part of my career at 91¾«Æ·. I started in Communications and, after trying a few different roles, I found that marketing is what I enjoy the most and where I work now; without taking these opportunities I wouldn’t have discovered this.
I would say be prepared to work hard and take any experience you can.
